When a family separates, adults with dependent children have several options for working out maintenance payments needed from their non-resident partner. They can either come to an arrangement privately, they can pursue financial support via the courts or they can enlist the support of the Child Support Agency.Statistics released for March 2010 have shown that, in cases where parents have asked for CSA help to determine the level of payment they are owed, the service paid more than ninety four million pounds during the first part of the year directly to the main parental carer of the children concerned. This is the highest figure in two years – more than forty thousands pounds higher than the same quarter in 2008 and even greater than the ninety two million pounds collected in the first sector of 2009.
In addition to this, CSA advice led to more than two hundred and ninety million pounds being collected in total during the same time period – meaning over 800 thousand children benefitted from child maintenance payments during the opening months of 2010.
In the cases handled by the CSA, almost half – 49 percent – of the non-resident parents ordered to contribute towards their children’s care were not in employment. A further 43 percent work for a business, whilst eight percent were self employed.
The Child Support Agency also revealed that it has received more than four million calls for advice during the past twelve months. CSA helps 800,000 UK children to receive financial support
They fail to tell you of the families and children who they have enforced into poverty and how they have abused the easy targets like our servicemen and ex servicemen disabled ex-serviceman to be made homless by the CSA people on PAYE they do not chase after the absent parent who will not pay and has no intention of paying that is far too much hard work for them after all they have their targets to meet and their bonus to think of. You will hear CSA employee's bleating on about they do not get bonus's - well that is POOP! Failing CSA received £25 million in bonus's over a five year period Here is the proof. Surely if they were all about lifting children out of poverty that £25 million would have been better off going to the so called impoverished children? As I mentioned before it is a scam! 'The CSA not only ended my father's life, it ruined mine, too'
They also waste tax payers money - considering they will tell you that you have to pay for your children, which may I add yes you should but you are also entitled to live and have a life too, sorry I digressed they have recently been in the news for wasting tax payers money on lavish items the word hypocrisy springs to mind http://www.express.co.uk it is truly disgusting and they care not for the children. Not only do they enforce people into financial hardship they are also responsible for many people taking their own lives 61 known suicides before the media blackout was put in place.
Now then the point of this site is to give you some information to protect yourself from being abused by these imbeciles, never ever give up - fight them give them as much grief as they have given you make them work for their money do not be a soft target, there are lots of groups on Facebook where you can get some good advice.

The flat rate of child maintenance is £5 a week - no matter how many children are involved.
The non-resident parent pays a flat rate for child maintenance if:
their net weekly income is between £5 and £100, or
they or their partner who they live with gets Income Support, income-based Jobseeker's Allowance, income based Employment and Support Allowance or Pension Credit, or
they are getting one of the following benefits:
contribution-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
State Retirement Pension
Incapacity Benefit
Carer's Allowance
Widowed Mother’s Allowance, Widowed Parent's Allowance, Widow's Pension
Severe Disablement Allowance
Industrial Injuries Benefit
Maternity Allowance
a training allowance approved by the Department for Work and Pensions
Armed Forces Compensation Scheme payments
a War Disablement or War Widow’s Pension For our ex servicemen!
Bereavement Allowance
a social security benefit paid by a country.
Be aware with the above information, if you are on the old rules they count your War Disablement Pension as income, new rules is the flat rate so ensure you know which you are on before you speak with the morons.

I seriously feel for you men. My boyfriend has spent the last 10 years being completely raped by the CSA and his stupid ex gf. He is so skint he cant afford to heat his house or eat and has 20,000 debt whilst she is spending at least £200 a month on eyelash extensions, hair extensions and nails not to mention the holidays and range rover she drives!!
Totally out of order…but you can now very easily appeal to the CSA about the amount you are paying so instead of it being just flat out 20% of your wages which is what he is paying you send them your pay slip of your monthly earnings and then you list every single out going you have council tax, bills, rent, insurance everything and they have to rework it out of what you have left so now he is paying a 5th of the amount he was paying before!! I do agree that men should pay for there kids but not that much. I mean the best thing is that now when he see’s them he can afford to spend money on them and take them places..rather than all his money going towards his ex’s new boob job!!

Also ask the CSA/CMEC for a variation and a change of circumstances booklet. Never speak with these people on the phone always ensure you send a letter recorded delivery and email them copy in your MP. If you do have to speak with them ensure you record the conversation.
